Canadian Made Unfitted Cottage-Style Kitchens

For a clearer and larger photo, please click on the image.

When homeowners Rory and Maggie Daly came to us for custom cabinets, we were delighted.  At Wesley Ellen Design & Millwork, we love the casual unfitted English cottage-style look and so it's not surprising that this has been one of our favorite projects.

The timeless design and simplicity of this style is also seen in our own 'Cottage Collection' catalog. You can see examples of this in our earlier blogs or by visiting us at www.wesleyellen.ca. To receive your own PDF catalog, please email us at ron@wesleyellen.ca

The wood counter-tops are solid laminated beech and the black counter-tops, on either side of the range, are soapstone.

Swedish Apartment Kitchens by Alvhem Makleri

Having lived in Sweden ourselves, for a short time, many years ago, I was keenly interested when I cam across the Goteberg interior design firm Alvhem Makleri

Simple and refreshing.

Barn Kitchen

What I like about this renovated timber-frame barn kitchen is the appropriate utilitarian design elements.  The white inset cabinets in the background are certainly traditional, the light fixtures are practical and feel at home in the barn, as does the iron-legged island with it's thick solid wood top.

As seen on the Martha Stewart website.

Georgian Townhouse by Martin Moore & Company

As you can see, I'm on a Martin Moore & Company kick, simply because they've done some great design work.

'Something's Gotta Give' Kitchen

It may be almost ten years since the movie 'Something's Gotta Give' first came out,  and many fell in love with the kitchen, but the white kitchen with black counter-tops is still popular with many of our clients.

Heritage Home Kitchen Renovation

The kitchen and dining room of this 100 year old heritage home  was completely gutted to make room for a space that suited the family of five.  At the top of the husbands wish list was this commercial 48" Subzero and the Meile built-in coffee maker.

New Transitional Kitchen

This truly is a good example of a transitional kitchen. The white perimeter cabinets are face-framed with inset flat slab drawer-fronts. The turned island posts of course feel quite traditional.
